Paraffin: oily and quite harmless to the skin when pure, but the commercial version often contains irritants.

Lanolin: obtained from a sheep’s gland, can cause irritation of sensitive skin.

Oil gel: very greasy, once on the skin it is difficult to remove completely. As a result, dust and other toxins from the atmosphere adhere to the skin, accumulating in the pores causing irritation and the appearance of spots.

Borax: Sodium borate is a powerful tanning agent used in the leather industry and is a powerful compound for stove and oven cleaners. It is also used as a preservative and softener in many face and body creams.
