If you want a day out with your family, enological tourism is a choice that deserves all the attention. Whether you choose a wine tasting in the country’s vineyards or choose one outside the country, pack your bags and enjoy a few days off where you can enjoy a quality wine. To taste a wine means to give it the time and attention necessary to feel the unsuspected sensation of taste buds, shrouded in the smell of inviting senses, which only a wine lover understands.
In our country, wine tourism has developed a lot. Romania has a very rich offer when it comes to vineyards and wineries. These vineyards and wineries can be visited under special programmes including walks through the vineyard, explanations from specialists about the wine-making process. Most wineries also have accommodation, and the gastronomic component combines a good tradition of friendship between wine and food.
If you want to taste a glass of corpulent red wine or even a white wine I recommend you visit the Musée du Vin in Paris. When you arrive in Paris you should put it on your list of places to visit.
Musée du Vin from Paris
When you think about visiting Paris, you come to mind the famous architectures, with stately museums and palaces, without which a visit to the capital of culture and love would not be complete. If you want to visit Paris or propose a small holiday here, in addition to important and well-known sights, I recommend you visit the Musée du Vin.
The Musée du Vin is opposite the Eiffel Tower in the 16th arrondissement, not far from Charles Dikens Paris Square, near Trocadéro. The nearest metro station is Passy. At the Musée du Vin,old bottles, vats, instruments, objects and artifacts belonging to viticulture and wine, since antiquity, are exhibited. They are exhibited, grape presses, decanters, old photographs, portraits, scenes from the life of winegrowers. There is even an anthem for the homage of Saint Vicent, the spiritual patron and protector of the winemakers (celebrated on January 22).
For the French it is a real emblem, this Musée du Vin, located in the heart of Paris. Once upon a time, there were rich vines here. In 1493, when the hermit Francis of Paola retreated to the area for asceticism, followed by disciples, monks who also did the cultivation of vines. A monastery was built here that operated until the French Revolution. The museum contains more than 2000 pieces related to the field of viticulture, but also a wine cellar in which various varieties of wine can be tasted and information of interest in this field can be heard.
The Musée du Vin in Paris was founded in 1984 and is, as you may have guessed, a museum dedicated to one of the representative passions of the French people: wine. Musée du Vin is an interesting and useful cultural center for those of you who want to learn interesting things about wine culture in the country that has definitively established the world pan.
At the Musée du Vin in Paris, the old stone and clay tunnels were actually the place where the building materials were extracted in the Middle Ages, used for the buildings of Paris. These stone and clay tunnels were later converted into cellars by the Minime brothers for Passy Monastery. In these cellars was stored the wine produced by them in the 14th century by cultivating the vineyard on Chaillot Hill.
At the Musée du Vin, we encounter separate sections showing displays showing how the wine was produced, including the scientist Louis Pasteur considered the man who revived viticulture in France. At the end of the musée du Vin tour you will find a place dedicated to tasting, where you can sit at the table and enjoy a glass of wine. For organized groups, dinners and conferences on oenological topics can be organized with early booking. At the end of the visit you can receive a bottle of wine, which is actually included in the price of the entrance ticket.
At wine tasting in wineries in France
Anyone who wants an authentic wine tasting can even participate in the picking of vineyards. That’s of course in September when the grapes are ripe. Wine tasting is done all year round, with reservation, in organized groups or on your own.
The Bordeaux region remains the source of the oldest wine-growing areas. Here we can meet the finest varieties of wines that we can taste. The classic Bordeaux wine has the same name as the city where it comes from. Bordeaux is an authority on the wine industry. The Bordeaux region is located in southwestern France, and the surroundings are home to impressive vineyards that cannot be described in words.
Visiting a vineyard takes you about 20 centuries ago, as long as the tradition of the wine sector lasts. Many vineyards also have impressive castles with centuries-old history. Bicycle rides can be taken through vineyards or pine forests.
Reguinea Bordeaux is surrounded by the Gironde estuary at the Atlantic Ocean, enjoying an ideal climate for raising vines. All wineries in this region are called Chateau. These wonderful places are worth visiting, not only to taste a good wine but also for the impressive castles and wineries.
A Bordeaux wine is any wine produced in the Bordeaux region of southwestern France, centered on the city of Bordeaux. The entire area of the Gironde estuary comprises 120,000 hectare vineyards. This, it seems, is the largest wine-growing area in France. More than 700 million bottles of Bordeaux are produced here on average.
“Route de coteaux”, meaning ” Slope Road”, is north of Bordeaux. This “Road of the Slopes” takes you through Blaye and Bourg. Here we meet hills with hidden villages, churches and Roman vestiges. In Blaye we also meet an ancient fortress built by Vauban. Southwest of Bordeaux, on the Graves Road, we encounter extensive forests and vineyards from which the famous wines such as Cérons, Barsac are produced.
Chateaux Margaux is one of the best known wineries in the world. The castle dates back to the 12th century, and wine production began in the 15th century. Here we can taste world-renowned wine varieties, the field being impressionable, admired by all tourists.
In the Medoc region, you should not miss Chateau Pichon-Longueville. Viticulture specialists describe the grape varieties here as an “iron fist in a velvet glove”. This winery produces three of the most popular wines in the world: Latour, Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild. The latter being recognized not only for its perfect flavor but also for the tradition of labels. Inside the castle there is a museum, where you can admire paintings such as Chagall or Picasso, as well as the beginnings and tradition of viticulture in France.
In the heart of Medoc, you can discover Chateau Cos d’Estournel. Here you will find an enormous statue of an elephant at the entrance. The building was built after the famous Indian mausoleum, the Taj Mahal and makes a distinct note among the classic castles in the area.
The French and wine
It is known that the French prefer a glass of wine at any table. In the evening often at the restaurant the ladies serve only a glass of red wine. Dressed elegantly, always cheerful and with a perfect silhouette, you wonder, what is their secret? Is it red wine?
We already know the health benefits of wine. Among many advantages, red wine protects the heart, because it has a blood fluidizing effect, reduces blood pressure, prevents the formation of blood clots and reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the body. This means that the pressure on the heart muscle is reduced and its function to pump blood is improved.
Health also means thrift! A single glass of good, quality wine makes your life more beautiful!
