Dates, the fruits of the Palm Tree have been called “the food of the earth”. Dates were so widespread in the Jordan Valley that Jericho was known as the “fortress of palm trees”. The date palm, is a symbol of hope and survival.

It is also said that the angels brought palm branches to Christian martyrs to lead their souls to heaven. Even today, Palm leaves are used at the great feasts, both in Jews, at the feast of the Tabernacles, and in Christians, on Palm Sunday and at Easter.

Thanks to vitamin B5, dates have the property to recover the physical strength, energy and freshness of the brain and nerves.

Experts claim that 10 curmals per day are enough to ensure the daily need for magnesium, copper, sulfur and half of iron and a quarter of the need for calcium. Thus, by consuming only dates and water we can live a few years. Contemporary medicine has turned its attention to this fruit as an object of long-term study and numerous benefits have been discovered.
