We are all waiting for the holidays, in the mountains or by the sea. It’s always a question based on everyone’s preferences. How about a holiday where we also have mountains and sea, sun and cars? Positano is a dream place, you still don’t realize it until you get out of there and feel that longing is eating you deep.

Who does not want a dream destination where the mountain meets the sea. The silence, the sun must have inspired Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones when they wrote the song “Midnight Rambler”: in a café in Positano… The inspiration was found by Partricia Highsmith, who wrote part of her novel “The Talented Mr. Ripley”. But it prevents you from the exorbitant prices with which you are greeted, with a smile on your face, obviously.

In the middle of the holiday season, depending on the view and the number of stars, the price of a hotel room easily reaches 300 euros. But you can also pay 100 euros per night for a double room. Prices don’t have much of an upper limit. At “Le Sirenuse” a hotel in the top 10 most beautiful hotels in the world, you get goosebumps both because of the landscape and interior design and because of the prices. Vacationing in Positano keeps you in shape, makes you active, climb and descend hundreds of steps every day. In addition the most spectacular landscapes are placed up high. As you walk, energize yourself with a coppa del nonno, the best frozen coffee in the world. Seafood, fish, pizza, prosciutto crudo e melone, pasta home made varieties you get at every restaurant.

In the central square you can enjoy dozens of shops full of souvenirs and handicrafts: clothes, ceramics. You will notice that Positano has its own fashion. Dresses, cotton and linen blouses in pastel colors. Do not leave without a sarong made in Positano. Pottery is processed in hundreds of ways. Those who want to renew their crockery, can find interesting suggestions.

The lemon is a symbol in this area. Besides limoncello (best you can find in Amalfi), try L’Albertissimo – a local drink – and lemoncandy. Even if you spend a day here, you’ll definitely remember it for the rest of your life. Local guides recommend a visit to the Li Galli Islands. A memorable experience is to visit the Amalfi Coast and reach Capri on the water.

In Positano, you can sunbathe on the following beaches: Laurieto, Alorenzo, Marina Grande and Fornillo. One of the reasons you love Italy is also Naples. The splendid location, very close to Rome, 2 hours by train, an hour from Capri by boat, an hour’s drive from the Amalfi Coast, Positano or Sorrento.

A perfect holiday where the mountain meets the Green Tirenian sea, among oranges, lemons and mandarins grown on the side of the road, what you can wish for more. Fruits fall on the ground and no one bothers to take them. We are lucky to see these wonders of nature.

If the island of Capri, the green-and-white paradise is famous for the millionaires who live here and visit it, the former fishing village Ofosposano is also called the Hollywood of Europe. It is very popular among high-class destinations, due to the enchanting views and of course renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning American writer John Steinbeck.

At 7.00, after enjoying bruschetti and a double lemonade, made of lemons from the hotel’s courtyard, we descend the 400 stairs that separate us from the port. I left Amalfi for Positano.
